Banjo Minnow Fishing Lure News, Success Stories, and Letters

August 2009

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND US A STORY OR PICTURE, E-MAIL US AT wayne@banjominnow.com

Below are letters and e-mails from Banjo Minnow Fishermen/women. We get literally thousands of letters telling us of their success. It is impossible for us to print them all, but here are a few of the best.

Other Banjo fishermen/women love to hear about others success with the Banjo. Every Banjo fan shares the same secret. They bought it with great doubt or it was given to them. They didn't want anyone to see them using it at first, and then they were amazed to learn that the infomercial didn't lie, that the stories were true......the Banjo Minnow really will out fish any lure in existence today (except in murky or muddy water, then it is the same as other lures). All Banjo users take great glee in out fishing the "the experts who know its just another stupid TV lure"!

Subject: Forever Banjo!

Hello Wayne, I have written to you in the past…but I have yet another great story about my Banjo Minnow fishing experience…I live here, close to the Salton Sea in southern California, and I am an avid fisherman. I have been using the Banjo for almost 13 years, and I have had MUCH success with it. I learned a lot from last year’s spawning bass and crappie experience. This year my bass are getting bigger, one was a little over 2 pounds, then a few days later I caught a bigger one than that…close to sunset, I caught a real good sized Rainbow Trout…then I caught THE biggest crappie to date(over one-and-a-half pounds at 14 inches in length-the one on the picture) This bass and crappie in the picture was enough meat to take home that evening. The crappie in the lagoon right behind me are going wild. I hit a cove that’s heavily structured and easy to loose my banjos, but I was casting and playing it just right to hook, not the logs, but 6 great looking crappie-that were just slamming the banjos. I was using the original-3” blue/white peppered minnow(I was able to hook it up 006 style by easily making holes on the head and inserting the eyes with eyelet on the end-My wife got me these for Valentine's Day) These minnows are perfect because of the size and the perfect hook set..so I didn’t miss many. The biggest crappie I caught was with the 4 inch-pearl white minnow. Two weeks ago I hit the Highline canal and the water was real clear this time around, and caught a bass that got me so shaken up and mad(because as I landed it, it slipped off the hook and went back into the water) after that I caught about 12 not-legal-sized bass that I of course released unharmed. I love these Banjo Minnows….as a matter of fact I’ve already convinced about 3 fishermen to buy them. When I caught the 6 crappie the other day, a man and his two kids began to fish close to me(Carolina rig and all that stuff), he didn’t catch anything, but just kept seeing me pulling them out of the water. I told him that all I use is the Banjo Minnow and informed him about the website and test kit he can buy. I hope all of you doubting Thomases out there give this lure a try because it will blow you away, no matter what some people will say about them. I started fishing the Banjo Minnow back in 1997 as a kid and I always knew that it wasn’t a gimmick..now, I’m 26 and order Banjo parts and very proudly tell people about what I’m using. Thank you Wayne for an amazing time you’ve given us with the Banjo Minnow..I will fish this lure as long as I’m alive. THANK YOU -Jose

My husband recieved his Banjo Minnow for Fathers Day 2009. He had never tried it until this year. Feb 13, 2010, he decided to try out the Silver Shiner at a lake here in Phoenix, AZ. He was gone for about 5 hours and called home so excited he could barely speak. Told me he caught 20 bass and he could barely make it back to the truck. He was fishing from the shore, so I thought he was pulling my leg. Well, as you can tell from the picture he wasn't. He did catch 20 bass, some white bass, large mouth and some strippers. There were 2 that were 24 inches in length. He had so many fish he had to tie the cooler lid on to keep from losing them. Let me tell you, it has been hard living with him for the last couple of weeks. He's as happy as a kid in a candy store. I am so proud of him, and we both will be using Banjo Minnows in the future. Thank you, Susan Denny

Hello, My name is Sean Guiheen. I have learned that your lure works great! It works so well that when me and my friend went to go fishing I caught 3 pickerel all above 13 in. My friend wanted these lures so bad, when i wasn't looking he tried to steal so banjo rigs from me. This lure works well and i cant wait to use it again in this upcoming season.

I caught it with a 5ft ultra lite Shakespeare combo. A 3 inch 006 green moon minnow that was painted to look injured. The fish was 19in in length, 13in in girth. I estimated that the fish weighed in at 8 lbs. . I did not have a scale to be accurate. I caught it at 6:30pm on Feb. 3, 2010. It hit me about 5 ft off of shore in the lake by my house in Sunrise, Florida. That is in the Ft. Lauderdale section of Florida.

Subject: The Best

I have been a banjo fisherman and (unpaid spokesman) for 10 years. I say unpaid spokesman because since I began using the lure, I've been teaching it to everyone I know about how it is the preeminent lure available. Nothing is better than the Banjo, and I've proven it each time I've gone fishing. I have slayed the Smallmouth Bass when my fishing partners are having troubles getting them to bite. I have numerous pictures that I can send along to prove it. I have gotten 6 people that I know of that I had never met before to buy the system, in fact the owner of the lodge finally had enough of my bragging that he bought several kits after I left last year! I would love to film an advertisement for the Banjo minnow that could be used to bring more fishermen into the realization that with the Banjo you can not catch fish unless you don't put it in the water! I have NEVER been skunked when I fished the banjo! It's an amazing lure. I have a hundred stories I can tell about my successful exploits while my fishing partners not using the Banjo failed. Thank you for providing me with some of the best times of my life! Catching Ontario Smallmouth Bass with my Banjo's!!

Hi Wayne,

We probably picked the worst week of the last summer to fish (2009)- the last week in August but we still got some great fish. The first picture is one I got from Indian Pond with our guide Chris. The second picture is the one I got off shore in Lake Moxie after only fishing for a few minutes and having never fished there before. The second fish I caught on the new 006 banjo that is a white color with black spots on it. The third picture is a fish that my girlfriend Debbie got also from Indian Pond. The biggest fish I got was 20 inch smallie that I never got a picture of but Chis took one. As he said "That one is a beast." It was definitely the biggest smallmouth I have ever caught and I got it on one of the 5 inch 006 Banjo minnows. Maybe I can get a copy of the picture from Chris. At the time I had enough of problem just landing the thing. I was so glad I didn't lose it that I forgot everything else. Anyway thanks for putting us on to Chris who was a great guide and for in my opinion a truly great lure and maybe the best of all time: the Banjo Minnow. At first I thought the old minnow was superior because I was so used to it. But now I know that the new 006 Banjo has better action and swims more naturally. I thank you for creating the Banjo Minnow and putting in the work to improve something that was all ready near perfection. The new minnows are more durable and easier to rig as well. I have studied lures and their actions all of my life and attempted to find the best possible way to use each one. In the classes I have taught to beginning anglers I have and will continue to recommend the Banjo Minnow as being an effective bait that is easy to use. Thanks again and hope to see you soon.

Hey Wayne,
Here is what I did yesterday afternoon. He was not a monster, but he was a straight up slot fish, and was good for dinner. Straight up 28 inches. My friends do not make fun of my banjos anymore! Hope you have a great day.

My wife bought me a set of your Bango minnows and eyes and hooks for my birthday and it was the best birthday present that I could ask for. I am a pond hopper. I like to fish ponds and pools, thats where the big bass are just waiting under the lillie pads. The first day that I took them fishing I caught a 8.5 pounder, and a 6 pounder. The second day I caught another 8 and a halfer. So in my eyes the banjo minnow is the best fishing lure that has been put out on the market EVER, no buts, ifs or ands, its just the best their is!!! Thanks for the fun, I will be a Bango minnow spokes person for life. Now I need to go and order some eyes and hooks. Thanks again Your Pond Pal Beudreau. P.S. I work nights so I dont have a day phone on until after 12:00 noon Monday-Thursday.

HELLO WAYNE MY FRIEND ASK ME TO GO FISHING WITH HIM, AS WE BOTH ARE PAST OUR PRIME AND NEED A BUDDY JUST IN CASE SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN TO ONE OF US .HE IS 84 AND I AM 66 WE WENT TO HIS POND YOU COULD SEE THE BASS AND CATFISH SWIMMING AROUND. HE HAD TRYED ALL KINDS OF BAIT WITH NO LUCK I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE BANJO MINNOW I HAD ORDER AND WANTED TO TRY THEM OUT . I USED THE 3 IN. MINNOW WITH BLACK BACK AND BLACK DOTS ON THE SIDE. ON THE SECOND CAST I HAD MADE TWO JERK AND AS I STARTED TO TAKE UP THE SLACK I NOTICE THE LINE STARTING TO MOVE AWAY FROM ME. I DID LIKE THE VIDEO SAID LET HIM TIGHTEN THE LINE THEN I PUT THE HOOK ON HIM . I THEN CAUGHT TWO MORE FIVE POUNDERS. TOTAL OF THREE I CALLED HIM AND HE WALKED OVER AND SAW THE FISH AND TOLD ME TO PUT MY RODS UP . WE WENT HOME. I GAVE HIM THE PICK OF THE FISH. A GREAT DAY I GOING TO TRY THEM IN THE BIG LAKE SOON.
