Banjo Minnow Fishing Lure News, Success Stories, and Letters

Spring 2009

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND US A STORY OR PICTURE, E-MAIL US AT wayne@banjominnow.com

Below are letters and e-mails from Banjo Minnow Fishermen/women. We get literally thousands of letters telling us of their success. It is impossible for us to print them all, but here are a few of the best.

Other Banjo fishermen/women love to hear about others success with the Banjo. Every Banjo fan shares the same secret. They bought it with great doubt or it was given to them. They didn't want anyone to see them using it at first, and then they were amazed to learn that the infomercial didn't lie, that the stories were true......the Banjo Minnow really will out fish any lure in existence today (except in murky or muddy water, then it is the same as other lures). All Banjo users take great glee in out fishing the "the experts who know its just another stupid TV lure"!

Wayne, I must say that this is the best lure I have ever used!!! I got these on vacation and wanted to hury home to fish with them. I got home and went strait to the local watreing hole(lots of cover and big fish). I had personelly never caught any fish out of this pond. Before hand I watched the video many times and got the rhythm just right. First cast I let it dive into the weeds and grass, twitched it 2 times and BAM!!! An absolute my hands. I must say thank you for such a great lure.monster bass was on the end of my line and before I knew it, was in my hands. I've continued to catch quality Bass and other fish. I have shown friends and others the magic of the Banjo Minnow and have provoked a "feeding frezy" in my local area for this lure.

Subject: Awesome Lure!!!

Wayne,
I just got my Banjo minnows in the mail this afternoon. The weather was bad and my husband wasn’t available to take out the boat so I watched your instructional video carefully and went to a small local lake (Weyauwega Lake, WI) and within 20 minutes I had the biggest bass I had ever caught in Wisconsin…let alone at that lake. It was awesome! I followed your directions to a T and I couldn’t believe it when it worked! I was jumping up and down! Needless to say I am pleased with my purchase. I only had time to fish for a half hour today, but I will be back out tomorrow.
I have attached a picture, but I only had my camera phone with me so it isn’t very good.

Sincerely,

Subject: Banjo Minnows are the BEST investment ever!

Dear Wayne,
I live down here in Waller,Texas, and I recently bought your Banjo Minnow 006 Fishing Kit. I noticed that it also came with a DVD. I was the only one who was willing to watch it(everyone else was too lazy). On my first cast i used the swimming retreve, and the minnow started to move around. As you said, I waited a minute then pulled the lure into the fishes mouth and I caught this huge 7-pound largemouth bass. For everyone who doesnt think they work they do and they are also at a great price so make the investment!

I live on Lake Winter, in Winter Wisconsin... I also live right next to a river that is well known for the muskies, northerns, and bass. I brought three, just three minnows with me(and lost all of them each cast). The first one I lost before I could even close the bail on my reel. The second one, right after the first jerk another northern came up and snapped my line!!! My third, a REALLY BIG largemouth bass came up and a 5 minute fight started until the line snapped again!!!!!!!!! I'm a strong believer of the banjo minnow now

I recently ordered the minnow kit, after watching the infomercial for years and saying that's a joke. I have been pre-fishing tournaments in Alabama with my HVAC guy this summer and last week I broke out the Banjo about 10:30 a.m on the Warrior River after a 6 fish morning and Chris was complaining how hot the water was. He pretty much said we're done. First cast I missed, long story short, the spots murdered the Banjo. I caught 13 fish by 12 o'clock, including 3 of the largest spots (bass) ever. Chris who has at least 20 rods and reels and I have never seen him tie a lure on the boat was tying away. I would have won the Tournament by myself in the middle off the day. Then Sunday some friends and I put canoes in the Locast Fort River and first cast a 4.2 lb spot topped all the week before. I also had 2 more 3 plus lbs I am fishing in one of the top farm ponds in Alabama, Tuesday, next week with three Doctors canot wait to see what happens. Cleve Shearer

All I want to say is thank you, thank you, thank you

The banjo006minnow is heaven in a lure I mean one day my brother and I were using mighty XXXXX.And we didn't got any luck so I got my banjo minnow and my brother said banjo minnow. What is a banjo minnow, is that just an ordinary old gimmick? And I said just watch and see so I cast it out and bang I caught myself a nice striped bass.So my brother said where you got that this lure is amazing so he said give me one.So I gave him one and he cought himself a nice big mouth bass.He was begging for where I got it and I said banjo minnow.com and automatically tried to get himself the one and only banjo006minnow kit.So now I'm never ever going fishing without banjo minnows now I am very satisfied with this lure.So I went fishing today and I coght a 39lb striped bass so every body around me said where you got that lure it's just amazing. So thank you very much Wayne and you have a very good product

I rarely used fake baits in the past, but I recently ordered the banjo minnow set and all that has changed. Now I can't take the lure off my line. I'm catching bass in open water, and also the thickest and slimiest weeded places that I could never have fished before. It's a great product and I highly recomend it to all of my friends. Thanks

Hi Cyndy. (One of my best friends spells her name Cyndy too!) I live in Illinois and wanted to purchase the banjo minnow package deal for my daughter. We went fishing last summer in Wisconsin and NOW she is used to catching bigger fish now. I attached pictures of two of the big smallmouths she caught. Her birthday is coming up, and I wanted to get her something to help her keep catching fish. Thank you,

I recently received my order of the Banjo Minnow and immediately went to the lake. As I don't have a boat I have to fish from shore and was very surprised and impressed. I have to guess based on size and feel, within 30 minutes I had 2-4 lbs'ers. Couldn't find the camera before I went but have since found it and it will be along for the trip next time.

Thanks again for the baits and the prompt delivery. I had so much fun last summer and last fall using the minnow for Muskies, Northern Pike, Large Mouth Bass, and Small Mouth Bass. It still is my go-to bait in my tackle box. People still laugh at me when I show them the lure, I just tell them.... Lets go fishing and you will find out for yourself! Subject: Memorial Day fishing

Dear Mr.Wayne Hockmeyer ;
Got my kit last week!
May 25,2009 I went fishing for the first time since 1990.I got a new rod & reel from Bass Pro Shops and after watching the New 006 Banjo Minnow commercial on Versus TV, I also bought the kit.
Well, it seems that "Grandma" who used to fish everyday with her husband had even forgot how to cast! But I had to encourage my middle grandson how to fish and make sure he had a good fishing experience, so I braved ahead, thinking the worst that could happen was I'd make a fool of myself. I just went to see if I had spooled it right and if I could remember how to cast so we went to the boat launch area of our "Lake Carmi" .
The first cast, with my new "Lady Elite pink Bass Pro", Support Breast Cancer rig, I fouled the line real good; forgot to hold it between my fingers when I hauled back to cast it. That got a good laugh! Unsnarled the line and started over, Wham! I got a huge bite; where there weren't supposed to be any fish! About 20 feet from the shore, in less then knee deep water.
I promptly forgot to ease the hook in but had started reeling and got him almost to the dock when he jumped and curled over and shook the hook. Two fishermen who were standing there making fun of my efforts gasped, did you see that!!!! He was a nice Black Bass almost as big as my Chihuahua who weighs 9 Lbs. When I hauled in my Banjo Minnow it was still intact and they asked where I got it. They got into their nice boat and left muttering, " if I hadn't seen it ", "it was a big fish"!!!
My grandson wanted to try my rod & reel since he had on a XXX "crawfish" that was getting hung up in the weeds. Of course I let him, and he got six or seven good hits but they got off the hook, no matter he was so fired up he didn't want to leave and did not want to give back my rod with it's Banjo Minnow.
After we got home, we set a date to go fishing again, only this time seriously in a boat on his 14th birthday July 12,2009.
I redid his reel with heavier new line and set him up with the 3" minnow. I'll send photos if he gets a big one.
Thanks for helping me get him away from those video games and perhaps into a great hobby.
Sincerely; 006ClubMember

Dear Wayne,  When I purchased the Banjo system my angler buddies were busting my chops about "soft baits".  -  First time out with the Banjo lures while fishing in the keys I nailed a 6lb. Jack Cravalle while my buddies sat there catching finger size snappers. Second time out fishing off Camino Real bridge for Snook - on the third cast  I got nailed hard and the line broke. This was not the products fault, this was due to insufficient line weight.  Lastly, just yesterday (6/14/09 ) I was fishing with my buddy and we came across schoolie dolphin. I used a small blue and white with red eye Banjo teaser and caught 9 fish in a row before the hook finally gave away.  My buddies will be ordering soon!!!

I ordered your product even tho I was skeptical that it would work. I thought for the price I did not have much to loose. My Wife, Son and myself used you're product and were very happy with the results. My wife caught a 4.5 lb large mouth Bass and 2- 3 lb Large mouth. My son caught 3- ranging from 2 to 4 lb large mouth and I caught 4 ranging from 2 to 3 lb large mouth. This was all done within two hours. Thanks for an outstanding product. I will recomend it to all my friends.

I recived the Banjo Minnow as a Father's Day gift from my sons. The first time I used the Banjo Minnow I caught 20 fish! While trolling, we caught a Perch, followed by 14 Pickeral, and 5 Largemouth Bass. The largest bass I caught with the Banjo Minnow on this fishing trip was 2 lb 2 oz. Most of the Pickeral I caught were 18''-22''. The very next day, I tried a local lake, just to see if it was all LUCK.

I arrived at the lake telling these 2 young fishermen about my success with the Banjo Minnow on my last trip. They gave me that "look" and said they saw the commericals about the Banjo Minnows. Standing five feet from the kids I casted the Banjo Minnow into the lake, instantly I landed a 3 lb 11oz Largemouth bass. This is the biggest bass I have ever caught. The other fishermen immediatly asked me where I purchased the Banjo Minnows. The second cast was tangled in lilly-pads ( I didn't use the weed-guard). The third cast I brought in a 1lb bass. We recommended your product and purchased other sets for family and friends. Thank you for such a great product.

Thank you- Richard Doran

Subject:  my big fish

Hello. I just wanted to say I love the banjo minnow. I took my daughter with me fishing this past sunday to a small neighborhood pond near our house. There are usually bass, and hornpout (catfish) in there. there are lots of bass but they are usually around 2 lbs top.

I was using my small yellow 006 minnow when i felt a tug. I let the line tighten then pulled. i caught a 1 1/2 pounder. Then i released him and recast an about the same spot. I felt another tug and waited. Nothing. So I barely moved my wrist again for a little bit and waited.
another tug.. Then another. So I pulled back. At first the line wouldn't move. I thought I had hit the bottom and gotten hooked. When all of a sudden my line went taught and my pole started to bend over. Then I was slowly dragging the line in when the line started swimming around. Next thing I know there was a huge bass jumping through the air. I yelled at my daughter to bring the net, which was too small for the fish... so I did what any angler would do fishing from the shore.... I got wet!! I stuck my foot in the water and grabbed the fish with my hand so I wouldn't lose it. What a monster... 7 1/2 pounds of fish. I was torn between keeping it or letting it go because this was my first ever bass over 3 pounds. It was an old female, that looked to have been hooked before but never landed. Anyway Banjo minnow has been true to their statement that when no other means is working to catch fish; the banjo minnow will deliver. I decided to release the fish and let her live in the pond. The man who works there has never seen the fish before and there is no outlet to a stream as the pond is stream fed. There is a rumor that there is a 10 pounder in there as well, we'll just have to see.

Subject:  Banjo Minnow

Comments: Hi, I just had to let you know about our 1st. Banjo Minnow fishing trip.  We received our Banjo Minnow order yesterday and Jim (my adult son) and I were anxious to give it a try and see how it worked.  I live on a pretty good bass fising lake, at least if you know a bit about catching them lol.  We like to night fish and I wanted to just hit the lake right away and go at it, but Jim said "hold on Dad, we've got to watch the DVD first, hehehe.. So we watched it once and then started getting ready to hit the lake and see what happens.  But as we were rigging up we had some differences of opinion about just which ones to use and how to rig them up? So Jim says we gotta watch the DVD again.. lol  So we pop the DVD back in and watch it for a 2nd. time.  Can you imagine fishermen being that patient? lol  But it paid off.  After we got properly rigged and made our plan we hit the first hotspot at about 11:PM.  We know this lake real good so we went right to one of our favorite
hotspots.  Me, my son Jim and my grandson Ty.  I have to admit Jim is the best fisherman of the 3 but on the 2nd. cast.. yes, the 2nd. cast Ty made he was working the Banjo Minnow when WHAMMO...  a 3 pound bass attacked it and we saw it because of the full moon and a lighted dock at that spot.  I mean that fish attacked the banjo minnow like a barracuda.  He didn't just mouth it like a worm, he hit it like a Mack truck.  So we had the first catch in less than 2 minutes of fishing.  Well, we usually can bag a few so I still was a bit skeptical.  But before I could say much about it WHAMO another 2-3 pound bass hit Jim's Banjo Minnow and we landed him too.  So far, so good. 2 bass in less than 5 minutes.  We took another couple of bass from that spot and then it slowed down for about 10 mins so we headed off to the next hotspot with 4 catches in about 15 minutes.. I noticed all were good sized fish between 2 and 3 pounds.  So we get to the next spot and start working
the banjo minnow there and next thing I know Ty says I got one.  I could tell it was a big one right away because he started towing the boat out away from the bank.  We don't use a John boat.. it's an electric weighing about 450 pounds and with the 3 of us and 2 dogs... it must be about 1,000 pounds in the water.  We couldn't see the fish as the battle raged and Ty didn't try to bull him in.. just worked him and let him pull the boat along for a while.  When we finally got him up close to the boat and he broke the surface I could see that he was going to exceed the record for this lake. He was a good 8 pound lunker.  We've fished this lake for over 30 years and have caught lots of fish over the years and the biggest bass we've ever caught here was just 5 to 6 pounds.  This monster was huge.  A new lake record.  I never even knew there were any 8 pound bass in this lake. But the Banjo Minnow completely surprised us.  We couldn't believe our eyes but there he was, a record
breaking trophy on the first night out using the Banjo Minnow.  Of course we released this guy back into the lake.  No way we wanted to keep him.  We figured the only reason he'd managed to get that size was because he'd managed to avoid all the other lures and worms that he'd come across before. But THE BANJO MINNOW HAD DONE HIM IN.. lol  It was like it didn't seem fair to harvest him when we're using such a potent lure like this Banjo Minnow that even this wise ole lunker couldn't resist it. lol
Well, we fished the lake using nothing but the Banjo Minnow.. not even tempted to use one of our old favorites or a plastic worm... No way we were going to use anything but the new secret weapon Banjo Minnows.. lol
So here's the bottom line and you can quote me on this.  We caught about 12 bass last night and here's what we noticed.  First off, the bass really attack this lure unlike any other we've ever used.  Thanks to watching your excellent DVD twice before putting it to the test.  Second, and this is very important to us fishermen.. WE NOTICED THAT THE FISH WE CAUGHT WERE ALL LARGER, BETTER FISH THAN WHAT WE USUALLY CATCH.  Strange as that may sound, we were catching bigger fish on average and all 3 of us made that same observation as we were heading back in and talking about our great Banjo Minnow fishing trip.  We can't wait to get back out on the lake tonight with this new secret weapon Banjo Minnow.  It is everything you said it would be and more.  It actually works as good or better than your video shows.  Your video isn't hyped up at all.. The Banjo Minnow is really that good.
There is no way I'd write this testimonial for you if we hadn't had one of the best fishing trips ever last night.  I felt obligated to let you know about it.  I live on a private lake communty in Sugar Land Tx. and I don't want to name the lake because it's in a neighborhood and not open to the public.  But I'll give you my address and you can look it up on a satalite system on your computer..  It's a 45 acre lake and my address is XXXXXX St. Sugar Land, Tx. 774XX I consider this lake a bit better than average but not the hottest bass lake I've fished.  A lot of the time we're the only boat out on the lake, so it's not like everybody's loading up when they fish this lake, but we do pretty good on it lol.  And we'll do a lot better now that we bought your great Banjo Minnow lure system.
Feel free to use this testimonial if you want, it's the least I can do for you for creating this terrific set of lures.
Many thanks,
Wayne, Jim, and Tyler Hamilton

Subject: Bass On Banjo 006 PLEASE READ WAYNE PLEASE

Hey Wayne,
I'm a 15 year old kid from Michigan and lately I have been getting into fishing. I saw the Banjo 006 Minnow advertised on TV. It looked really awesome an looked like it really worked but I really didn't know if I could believe something that saw on TV. But I figured that it was worth a try. So I went on-line and went to bassproshop.com just to see if they would have it so I would not have to order of of the TV or the Internet. They had it and I went and got it at my local Bass Pro Shop. Right after I got it it went to a farm that was stocked with bass so really no matter what bait that you used you would catch some largemouth, right? So me and three friends caught bass they were using live bait and i was using the Banjo Minnow. We all caught fish but I caught the most. I got 15 within a hour and the kid who got the second most he only caught 8. My friends were mad at me they said stuff like "Money caught you that bass you should just stick a twenty dollar bill on the end of your line." Well thank you Wayne it is the best 20 dollars I have ever spent in my life. This summer I am going to Houghton Lake and Higgins Lake in northern Michigan. I sure you probably heard of these lakes got any other tips?
Sincerely, your new best friend, Sam

Well Wayne, its Jon, i have the best fishing story ever....I decided to go fishing today after a long vacation. there is a small lake that i have been going to here near amarillo tx called Mackenzie. its a nice small lake where they don't allow jet ski's, watersports, ie tubing and skiing. the water is starting to warm up now, and my fishing buddy is at a work conference in Dallas. so i decided today that i would like to go fishing. i heard about a new way to cook a bass so i thought i would go get a couple and try to cook it....keep in mind i hate the taste of fish....im strictly a catch and release fisherman. with all of the fish i have been catching with the banjo minnows i thought i would run down there and get a couple. so i was fishing from the bank using (of course) my favorite glow in the dark 006 using the silver color weighted eye set. i caught a 14 inch lrg mouth just big enough to try the new taste test.....this of course could not be the end of my fishing trip, after all i just payed 3 dollars for a lake pass. so i continued to fish in a little cove just behind the boat ramp. the water is fairly clear a few feet out from the bank so i could see a small group of weeds in the area. after loosing my first minnow, i was pretty upset, but didnt want to give up that easily, i knew there had to be some sort of fish around here. while rigging up another minnow, i noticed a flash in the water. there was a largemouth that looked like a pretty decent size moving through the weeded area. i quickly rigged another pole and attached a weed guard. i cast my line over the area about 3 times using the swim swim die method...nothing. the 4th cast was a little different. i tried the die for a second the small jerk and die again method. i felt a small tug on the line and set the hook. there was a decent size fish on the other end that quickly came to the top of the water, spun then snapped my line....i have to say i was very upset. i had just lost 2 of my favorite lures. luckily i had one that u sent me still in the box. i rigged my pole a third time hoping to catch another fish (without loosing my last Glow in the dark lure). about 15 min of casting there was a hit. it was a hard hit. this was it, i had lost my lures to weeds and fish and trees, and i was going to bring this one in....i began reeling the fish in. there was so much fight in this fish, my little Shakespeare reel began to get hot as the bearings were working against this fish. the fish came closer to the edge of the bank. now i start to notice that the fish is a monster. the fight is on i began reeling to the point that i dont know if my reel is going to burn up before i can land this big large mouth.....im not sure what size test line is on this pole bc i just bought it a few weeks ago...as the fish comes to the bank the line snaps again. knowing that this was my last glow in the dark minnow, and the largest fish i had ever caught, i jumped into the lake and grabbed this monster bass....i pulled the bass out of the lake to find that it is in fact the largest bass i have ever caught. She is 23 inches long and 8.0 lbs....she will soon be mounted on my wall as my first monster bass.....to make the story a little more interesting when i pulled her out of the water, i noticed that this fish had my other banjo minnow in her mouth. over all i caught this fish 2 times within 15 min on a banjo minnow lol. i still lost one of the other minnows in the weeds, but at least i still have 2 left lol. Oh by the way i cooked the small fish and still dont like the taste of fish, guess its back to catch and release. i will get u some pics as soon as possible. my phone is not connecting right now.....thanks again

Hi Wayne
My name is Bill Kuler and my minnows arrived just before I left for vacation to Il., and was able to fish during my vacation on Lake Springfield there were approx. 80 people on the pier and NO one was catching a fish, I tried the blue back minnow with the weighted eye and caught 4 big mouth bass in less than 20 minutes, this is great I'm now ready to try my luck at home. WOW!!!!! i love the banjominnow. im going to buy a whole bunch. MY uncle bought a sample platter for banjominnows and he got a bass on the first cast and second cast for me. He watched the video but i watched him on how to do it and the funny thing is that i caught more and bigger fish than him bcause i had my own way of bringing them in. i caught a 6 lb bass on a white banjominnow. i about crapped my pants on how big that was. between the two of us we caught 25 bass and 5 or 6 of them were 5 pounders. Now if i could believe in god just as much as a believe in banjominnows then it will be a good day. keep making the minnows and i'll keep fishing with them. we fished at YMCA camp in ashland neb and cant wait to take them out again. oh by the way the 25 that we caught was in a time period of 4 hours.   ur new fan, friend, customer chris from lincoln nebraska.

Subject: A Skeptic Turned Believer

To whom it may concern,

I grew up fishing the flats of south and central Florida and I have used about every type of lure that is on the market.  I have always been extremely critical of any infomercial touting the latest and greatest fishing lure breakthrough.  In fact, I have never ordered a lure that I have seen on TV.  When I saw the banjo minnow 006 I made a comment to a friend that if we split the cost the worst thing that could happen is that we would each be out $13 bucks.  No harm in that.  Attached are some pictures of my FIRST afternoon on the water with the banjo minnow.  These are 31 and a 32 inch snooks.  Catching two like this in one afternoon is a lifetime first for me.  Ok, I believe they work!  Thanks for dinner!

Sincerely,

Joshua Bagamery

dear banjo

I purchase the banjo 006 minnow after christmas at gander mountian and wasn't completely believing the stuff you said but on the 5/23/09 I took it up to your little farm pond and on the tenth cast I caught a 14 inch largemouth but i had forgot to bring a pair of pillers so I lost the hook, about 3 hours later I caught a 14 inch bass with my hook in it. at the end of that day i had caught 12 bass, a crappie, and a 9 inch yellow perch. come this summer when we go to canada fishing I can't wait to play with the banjo minnow, oh that same day I had the biggest bass in the pond come straight out of the water after my banjo it really does work.

Subject:  biggest bass i ever caught!!

wayne i must say this is the best lure i've ever used! there was six of us fishing a private pond in upstate new york. nobody was catching fish, and we all know theres huge large mouth bass in this pond. well i threw on the banjo 006 minnow after being stressed and not catching any fish. first cast i caught a huge catfish! we never knew catfish were in these waters. then the second cast a huge 7lb large mouth bass. you can picture the rest of my evening. after we were done we all were hanging out by the trucks, two of my friends and three others i didnt know. we all were talking about the banjo 006 minnow and they all asked where they can get them. When i got home that evening and emptied out my truck, my 006 minnows that were all packaged up in there own zipplock bag were gone. i guess when people see something works that good they'll do anything to catch fish, including steal my set. its frustrating wayne to have your best lure stolen from you! i will tell you this, they took nothing but the banjo 006's what does that tell you?? i love your product and as soon as i can afford another set you bet im buying it. i recently was laid off so it might be a while but thank you for a great night of fishing wayne, its a night i'll never forget. the biggest bass ive ever caught was caught with the bajo 006 minnow. sincerely,

I purchased your product after seeing it on T.V. a couple of times. At first I wasn't so sure about it, but a friend of mine had bought some and said that they worked, not like the commercial said but they did work. Well i finally got some from Bass Pro shops and after several failed trips to several ponds and at Cooper Lake in Texas I was about to give up. I made myself watch the dvd another time I finally told myself that I just need to practice so that's what I did. I went fishing Last Sunday 5-17-09 at my wifes Aunt and Uncles and what happened that day I still find hard to believe. In about two and half hours i caught 37 Bass ranging from 1 lb to 3lb's. It was amazing you have made a believer out of me thank you so much for making this product. I have noticed people saying negative things about the Banjo Minnow and like some guy said before if you dont catch fish on the Banjo Minnow then you need to just stop Fishing and Find another hobby
Thanks again for the amazing product

Wayne, your lure is amazing. My name is Jarred Horner and I live in Great Bend, KS. I am always fishing out of Stones lake, but I have hardly ever caught bass out of there in the last 8 or 9 years. I have never even heard of someone catching crappie. When I received my 110 piece kit I went straight to the lake to try it out. On my first, to my surprise I pulled up a 13.5 inch, 2lb, black crappie. I didn't even know the lake had crappie in it. The next day I went to a different spot and on my third or fourth cast I hooked a huge large mouth bass. When I finally got the the digital scale out, the bass weighed almost 8lbs. It was the biggest large mouth I have ever caught in my life. I didn't know the lake had bass that big. Thanks for a great product.

Subject: Fish stories

Wayne,

Some fish Stories: I do have some pictures I will send you soon. Last year I was invited to join my mother and father in Fort Bragg California to do some deep Sea fishing. I was not sure if the minnows I had would do the trick so I ordered some 7" and 9" pearl minnows from your dealer before I went. When I got there I was told that the Ocean had been very rough and the 18' StarCraft that my dad had would not handle the rough sea, so I was disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to try my luck with the longer minnows. The next morning I was waken by my Dad and he said that the water was flat and it was time to go. Wow what luck. The ocean laid down the day I needed it to. What a change of events. For the previous two weeks it was too rough for the Party Boats to even go out and today it was flat. My dad said that his friend Jack was going to tag along. I thought this was cool, the more the merrier. We left Noyo Harbor and headed for the deep water. I believe we were restricted to only 125' of water so we didn't have to go very far before we were able to let down. Jack asked what secret weapon I had with me this time. I laughed at his sarcasm and pulled out a 7" minnow, put a 2oz slider above the hook and let her go. All of us let down at the same time. I had 20lb braided line on my 9' GL2 that I had built several years before. Jack looked at my long stick and my minnow and began to laugh. Just as he began to laugh my minnow it the bottom of the Ocean. I set the bail on my Roddy reel from Penn, reeled up a couple of turns and WAM first fish of the day a 15 lb Vamillian. The other guys jigged there twisty tails for about an hour before they asked me if I had any extra minnows. Of course, I replied, and I rigged them up. As soon as their rigs hit the bottom they hooked up. A double for their first fish. We filled the box with 15 bottom and2 Lingcod each. These guys were beside themselves. I was the talk of the fish camp. The next day we did it again only this time about half way through our trip I had what I believed to be a very large fish by the way it was pulling. When it was to the surface I saw that a 5lb Vamillian and an 8lb Lingcod were on the same hook. Wow two at the same time. This was unbelievable that this minnow was so good that the fish are fighting over it. Toooo Coool. I made about three trips to the Coast that summer and did well every time.
Another time I took two friends to my secret (meat) lake. This is a small lake that has always produced Browns, Rainbows and sometimes Brookies. This day I had caught mylimit of 5 trout first and the other guys had only a couple fish to go. I thought that I might just try one of the minnows I had in my box while the other guys finished their limits. First cast was in the water about 10 seconds and the fight was on. It was a nice Rainbow about 12" long, so I removed the hook and released him. The other guys said "I'll bet you can't do that again so I cast in a different direction. 10 seconds in the water and I was hooked up. I sat there and released 15 trout in about a half an hour while the other guys were struggling to finish their limits with worms. This was the most incredible day I had ever had fishing for trout. I broke the Cardinal rule. I packed up and left instead of rigging every one with a minnow and having fun for the rest of the day. I left while the bite was still on. Never again will I be in such a hurry to leave. Rest assured that I will from time to time send you some pictures along with the story so you can see that I am still having a lot of fun.I am working on a method to get down to the deep parts of the lake for the big ones. I have some of Babe's big minnows that I believe will also catch big Trout (Macs, Browns andCoho's. I will send you pictures and I get them. It's going to be a good summer.

Tight lines,

Subject: They work great

Dear Wayne,

My name is Patrick Lapointe. I live in a small town in the upper peninsula of michigan, called Baraga. I had purchased a banjo 006 minnow kit last year at the outdoor world bass pro shops in auburn hills. I didnt really get to use them last year but this spring i was able to use them at a friends pond a few miles from here. I started using them about two weeks ago and caught a few largemounth and one pike in a short period of time. Yesterday I tied up the banjo on a bigger medium acton rod then went down to the local marina and found out that it had better action then the other rod. So today i went fishing at the same pond with my friend and my dad. The first cast into the pond i was almost done bringing it in (using the dying minnow method) and it struck, i got the first one of the day, not even 5 minutes into fishing. that one was a bout 4 lbs. 5 minutes after that i got another one. When i had my sixth one on my friend and my dad had just caught there first ones. And of course they doubted me and my banjos like everyone else. That sixth bass I caught was about 7 lbs. one of the biggest of my life. I obviously out-fished them with the banjo and ended up with 7 bass. that's the most i have ever caught in that time span. And I would like to thank you for creating such a great and easy to use bait and hope to  catch a lot more this summer.

 Sincerly, Patrick

Dear Wayne:

My name is David McGlade and I am from Zanesville, Ohio.  In April I was with my family on North Captiva Island, Florida.  At night I would kayack the harbor, fishing for snook.  While in a large bay at dusk, the sounds of fish chomping fish were everywhere.  It was ugly out there, especially if you were the bait fish!  At night while watching TV, I repeatedly saw your infommerical.  Putting together what I had observed in the harbor earlier that night with what you were saying, I thought “he’s right”, fish eat fish period.

I acted.  I ordered the oo6 package.  After it arrived in Ohio I gave them a try.  I’m sure you have heard many words to describe the results, but WOW, amazing, incredible are just a few that come to mind to describe how the banjo minnow worked.  I made history in small farm ponds, several over 5 lbs. and too many 3+ pounders to count.  Unfortunately, I ran out of eyes on my first outing.  I have ordered more.  Thank you!

I will keep you in the loop as I try it out on other species.

Of course you can post my comment on your site. i went back to the lake again today and fished from a boat using the minnows.  i had to tell all of my friends about the banjo minnow, and of course they didnt believe me so when we went out today i caught 4 fish in about 15 min. so they decided i had to rig them all up a pole with the banjo minnows. before the night was over i talked them all into buying sets for themselves. Once again i thank you for your time. also my friends and i will be purchasing more of the 006 minnows, and i will gladly buy any new products u make as i have found my new favorite brand in lures. Thanks again.
