Banjo Minnow Fishing Lure News, Success Stories, and Letters

July 2008

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND US A STORY OR PICTURE, E-MAIL US AT wayne@banjominnow.com

Below are letters and e-mails from Banjo Minnow Fishermen/women. We get literally thousands of letters telling us of their success. It is impossible for us to print them all, but here are a few of the best.

Other Banjo fishermen/women love to hear about others success with the Banjo. Every Banjo fan shares the same secret. They bought it with great doubt or it was given to them. They didn't want anyone to see them using it at first, and then they were amazed to learn that the infomercial didn't lie, that the stories were true......the Banjo Minnow really will out fish any lure in existence today (except in murky or muddy water, then it is the same as other lures). All Banjo users take great glee in out fishing the "the experts who know its just another stupid TV lure"!

Hi wayne.
This is Shane Rush, from Devine Texas. I bought your lures from bass proshop about three weeks ago.. The first time I tested it out was at a water company's reservoir. I caught three largemouths, pretty nice in size, within two hours! Hell of a lure!!!

Wayne,
Thanks for making the Banjo Minnow available to the public. I wish you continued success. It wouldn't surprise me if Banjo Minnow does not overshadow other "new" lures from the past -- like Creme worms and H&H Spinner Baits. The Banjo Minnow system works and works very well! Hooks usually penetrate a corner of the bass's mouth or it penetrates the tough upper lip. Either way, it is obvious the whole lure was in the fish's mouth before the fish became "hooked."

Attached are seven pictures taken on my first two half-days fishing with Banjo Minnows in July 2008. Twin grandsons, Alex and Andrew Bynum, were new to 'serious' Bass fishing. Their "1st double" and "Teamwork" pictures capture their excitement and you can even see the Banjo Minnow on Andrew's line while he is netting Alex's "Personal Best" -- ever -- (25 years of age). That big grin says it best! I even caught a hard pulling "Fresh Water Drum" on a Banjo Minnow with my ultralite. "Largemouth Bass" helped get my Banjo Minnow 'unhung' from the submerged log on which I was balanced. Kevin McCarthy's "1st Big Bass" gave him a good fight in the brush. Picture 7 is of a "Largemouth Bass" that hit my Banjo Minnow at the mouth of a creek. The Banjo Minnow and hook can be seen in the bass's upper lip. I cut the hook to remove it to keep from hurting the beautiful fish.

My wife Patsy and I own and operate Cherokee Village Resort on Lake Whitney, Texas. If you ever come to Lake Whitney, please call or come by. Pictures and map are on our website at http://www.cherokeevillageresort.com

If you publish any of these pictures, please let me know where to find them.

Well me and my grandfather were at our favorite lake and we were catching a fish every hour or so. Then the wind started to get really strong. Me and my grandfather never let weather get in the way of our fishing. So we floated to this little point and got out the boat. So usually for that time of year the bass were chasing shad. So I was fishing with a bXXXXX spin, didnt catch one fish. So I remember how great your ad looked so I tied on the Banjo Minnow, and I caught 8 bass before my grandfather caught 1. So he tied on the Banjo Minnow, and we caught 42 bass within 2 hours. I LOVE THE BANJO MINNOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I was just on the banjo minnows website b/c i am interested in buying more of them. My name is Bryce Myers and I just wanted to thank you for making such an unbelieveable fishing lure. I tried out the banjo minnow and I was amazed! On my very first cast I caught an 11 in. crappe. And I thought that I was pumped then. I then casted out again and caught the biggest largemouth bass I have ever caught; it was 18-1/4 in. long and 3 lbs. and boy did he put up a fight! I am now addicted to the banjo minnow, and I have told ALL of my friends about it. I have fished my whole life with numerous fake baits, that dont even look like a fish; and now that i have the banjo minnows i have been slowly easing off of all the other baits in my tackle box, and started to move strictly to the banjo minnow!! Thank you again for creating such a wonderfull fishing lure.

Thanks again,
Bryce

Dear Wayne

I am 14 years old and I have a some what large pond on my block, and almost every cast using the banjo minnow in which I do not catch a large or smallmouth bass i get at least 5 hits from them. I have made this email to thank you and tell the your lure is almost perfect for fishing for bass. Even the larger green sunfish will bite on it. However Wayne there are also yellow bullheads in the pond to and i catch them with real minnows but not the banjo minnow, i hope you can tell me why. But other then that it the best i own, and Wayne if you ever make a banjo 007 I will be sure to buy it!

P.S you have to download my photo for the attachment.

im gonna make this brief. my name is nico crane im 15 years old i go bass fishing almost 2 times a week on a private lake its about 100 acres. i had bought the banjo 006 minnow set about a week ago from bassproshops.com and it came in and i kinda second guessed them. well last weekend we got out on the water at about 5:30 am i'm a bit early but it was worth it. i didnt have the banjo fishing set because i had forgot it . so i called my mom and told her that when she came if she could bring it and she brought it, and i set up my fishing pole with it and off we went. by that time it was about 8 am and we caught about 6 4-6 pound bass. we went out to a very shallow area of the lake and my dad was using a jig. so i threw out this minnow and started reeling it in and boom! a huge bass shot out of the water! the biggest i've ever seen on that lake! i started to fight the fish and about 2 minutes later i finally landed this huge bass! it was about a 10 pounder ! just as i was about to take a picture of it i dropped it by accident and off that great bass went! if i had the photo i would send it to you. but i really beilive in this lure!

thanks
nico

Hey Wayne:

Thanks for sending the minnows.

Here's a couple photos to prove that the Banjo Minnow is still crushing the smallmouth here in Maine. I guided yesterday and we picked up 10 fish over 18 inches with the 5 inch minnow when they virtually had lockjaw due to a cold front that moved through.

Keep up the great work.

Dear Wayne 7-12-08 Today me and my wife were able to go fishing. It was at 12 noon and we wanted to put the banjo006 to the test. So we went to a stock pond close to the house that we have stocked with black bass that we have caught at a near by lake this year. When fishig this pond the only time we caught fish was early morning or late evening. We feed these fish live bait and fish food. Todays temp at 12 noon was 98 and we fed the fish live bait at 9 am this morning .We started with plastic and hard baits for about an hour and caught nothing, then we used the banjo 006 and guess what, every second cast we caught bass. At this time the temp was 100 drgees outside and the wind was out of the south at 15 mph .Before we bought the Banjo 006 kit we couldn't even catch fish with live bait at these times of day. Its about time someone who made a bait product for fishing that works. And ,yes ,we did catch some of the bass more than once, a total of 20 bass in an two hour time frame. Thank You for a great product.

Wayne,
My name is Capt. Chris DeLorenzo I have been fishing South Florida for over 30 years.I have recently purchased a banjo 006 minnow kit. I was skeptical at first but was soon convinced. I went to a regular spot where I always go to catch snook, trout, redfish etc, grass flats. After watching your dvd on proper techniques I was easily able to duplicate the wounded minnow. My wife and I went out today to try them out, we caught 1 nice snook about 29" and a nice little sea trout about 10". Normally this wouldn't impress me. However, I have fished this same tide all week and have been skunked. Not today! I work as a Capt. on a Charter boat out of Jupiter Fla. I will be trying the minnows out in the ocean. I will let you know how it goes. I am a firm believer in artificial lures. Live bait is cheating. Well, now I almost feel as if I am cheating when I Tie a Banjo Minnow on...... Great Job!!!!!!!!

Thank You,

Dear Wayne,
I saw the infomercial on TV for the banjo minnow. I admit I was not totally convinced but I wanted to try it. I am no rookie to fishing, having fished for 30 years. I'm not a tournament fisherman but my fishing buddy is. When we go out after bass he usually catches more than I do. Recently we went out to a small lake to do some bass fishing. I used the banjo minnow, he used a tube. Neither one of us were getting any fish. I changed colors a couple of times to see what color they were hitting on. I rigged up a white banjo minnow and within 2 casts reeled in a nice 15" bass. Now we knew what color to use. Both of us caught some nice bass, about 8 large mouths apiece, plus I caught a good sized pickerel. Finally I kept right up with my buddy! Got to hand it to you, they do catch fish! Once I got the hang of working the banjo minnow, it was a piece of cake. Thanks Wayne!

Sincerely;
John Billey

howdy wayne,
I bought two sets of the first generation banjo minnow. I bought two because I thought it was a good deal. I gave away one, and half to my fishing buddys once I saw how great they worked.

I have a close circle of friends and once I got to bragging, they thought I was full of it, so I gave away over half and now 6 friends have found the banjo fishin religion.(lol).

It works. By no means am I gonna lie and say I caught every strike. I had to learn how to use it properly, it's not like any other bait Ii have ever used. I have gotten better, and landed fish.

Just for a hoot I put two of the bigger ones on a trot line and I did catch a fish.

A fisherman has to have a strike before you can land a fish. Ii know thats common sense but increased strikes is a great start to increased fish in the live well.

Everything in the tv spot and dvd rang true and thats hard to find anywhere these days. I thank you for a great lure and my friends thank you.

I will soon order the second generation of banjo minnow. Who ever thought about the lead eyes should get a raise.

great job one and all,

sincerly, bob talley
Bowling green,KY

p.s.
No offense Wayne but we did get tickled at your accent. Me and a buddy were fishing together and we both were using the bait and looked at one another and hollered "let it die, die, die, die" and started laughing. we were fishing below the dam at Nolin Lake spillway and we got a look or two from a couple of other men fishing and one guy yelled "banjo Minnow" ,the had them to. We all had a good laugh.

Hello Wayne,
I am an avid fisher and one day I was clicking through the channels when I came across your infomercial. I thought, I have to have that! I was very skeptical that your product was as good as it claimed. It just seemed to good to be true. I purchased the standard kit due to curiosity and anxiously awaited them to arrive in the mail to try them. They arrived in about a week and the next day I was out fishing with them, using one of the yellow 5" minnows. I was practicing my casting and reel techniques not expecting to catch anything. The fourth time I casted I felt a familiar jerk on the end of my line and I was stunned when I saw a nice sized largemouth jump out of the water. I reeled 'er in fast and was excited to see a good 3 lb. largemouth on the end with the minnow completely devoured in it's mouth. I fished for about another hour in the heat and caught 3 more good sized fish. I just want to tell you that your product is amazing and you made a believer out of me. Thanks for creating a great product. Keep 'em coming.

Dear Wayne,
The Banjominnow is the best lure I have ever used. The day I got the Banjominnow I watched the instructional DVD. The very next day I tried out the Banjominnow. I didn't catch a thing. I was about to give up, then I remembered your reeling in techniques. I tried one, wham I caught a fish it wasn't the biggest largemouth bass I have caught, but the Banjominnow worked.

Subject: My story of catching the big one with my Banjo Minnow 006

Dear Wayne:
I am writing to tell you what a fantastic tool the Banjo Minnow 006 is. I was raised in a big city in the middle of the Arizona desert, and naturally never fished much. I have recently moved to Northern Michigan and realized how amazing it is to be on the water fishing. But, lures are expensive, so my tackle box was lacking badly, being that bills always come first. Last Summer, my girlfriend and I spent a lot of time fishing on our days off. Well, tried to fish anyways with very little success, and a lot of time wasted. I saw your advertisement late one night on t.v., and was mesmerized. I wanted to catch fish like that, but was sceptical, I've never bought anything off of a t.v. ad before. But, as I continued to watch, I saw the possibilities in a lure that I could make look, and move, like real bait. What a concept! I had to have it, and that 110-piece set was the deal maker. So, I paid, and patiently waited. When they finally got here, I hit the lake running, and I never got skunked again that Summer. Sure they were small, twelve inches at best, but i was hooked. So, this Spring, I loaded up on larger minnows, and headed for better waters to work on my banjo skills. Since I left those small waters behind, I have had enormous success!!! My freezer is full of fish, and we have a large fish fry scheduled this Summer. Since I started fishing this year, I have caught more fish, and bigger fish, than my friends that were born and raised here who have been fishing their whole lives. Two of my friends have bought their own 110-piece sets and already have re-ordered more, all because I explained the concept and let them both try one of my minnows. They kept buying them off of me while waiting for theirs in the mail, which i re-invested in more minnows of course. My tackle box is 95% Banjo minnow 006's, and at one point I started to try to fish for other types of fish, but again have had little success. So, the other day I went out and left everything else behind. It was me, my waders, and a hand full of 5-inch Banjo Minnows at the mouth of a river in a huge lake. The fish were biting like crazy, but they were too small to keep or too small to take the lure. So, I slowed down and used the current to actually take my minnows out, instead of in. Before you know it, I felt that unmistakable jerk; I set the hook and and started the battle of my life. It took 10 or 15 minutes before I got to look at my prize: a huge smallmouth bass bigger than anything I had ever seen. The fish measured 21 inches and weighed over 5 lbs, I was like a kid at Christmas, my face said it all. I had an ear-to-ear grin that can only be brought on by the biggest fish you've ever caught. As my girlfriend and I walked back to the car, we were stopped by every passerby and asked about the fish. Every time I was asked, " what did you use to catch that monster?" I smiled and proudly said, " The banjo minnow 006". I only wish I could find a lure that was this effective on all fish. Food for thought huh? It was at this point that I decided to write and tell you my story and what an impact the Banjo Minnow 006 has had on my life. Thank you Wayne, thank you for making such an amazing product. Without my Banjo Minnow 006's, I am truly lost. Nothing else has caught me a Master Angler patch. Maybe the next picture I send you will be a state record. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like more pictures, it would be an honor to hear from you.

Always fishing with a Banjo,

Keoni

P.S. You are the MAN!!!
