Banjo Minnow Fishing Lure News, Success Stories, and Letters

September 2008

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND US A STORY OR PICTURE, E-MAIL US AT wayne@banjominnow.com

Below are letters and e-mails from Banjo Minnow Fishermen/women. We get literally thousands of letters telling us of their success. It is impossible for us to print them all, but here are a few of the best.

Other Banjo fishermen/women love to hear about others success with the Banjo. Every Banjo fan shares the same secret. They bought it with great doubt or it was given to them. They didn't want anyone to see them using it at first, and then they were amazed to learn that the infomercial didn't lie, that the stories were true......the Banjo Minnow really will out fish any lure in existence today (except in murky or muddy water, then it is the same as other lures). All Banjo users take great glee in out fishing the "the experts who know its just another stupid TV lure"!

Subject: Banjo Success in BWCA

Wayne,
I had seen the advertising many time... and although I was intrigued... I was skeptical enough to never buy your Banjo minnow. That was until my brother (seen in photo) went fishing with his girlfriend and her father... only to have lots of success with the Banjo minnow. This happened just about a week before my brother and I had a two week trip planned in the BWCA. We had purchased lots of lures, with little clue which would be best to take. My brother had gotten, as a gift, your Banjo Minnow set so we decided to take it along. By this time, my brother was sold on the success possible with your product... I was still very skeptical... especially of the huge 7"+ minnows. Well long story short... the photos show my reassured confidence in the Banjo Minnow. Strike after strike... we landed and lost lots of northern while up there... And with 1/2 of our meals for this trip relying on fish to be caught... I can say that the Banjo Minnow kept us fed and thus alive :) In one lake in particular, we sat in one spot and landed at least 6 northern... one of which was the biggest I've ever caught (in photo). It was unstoppable... and ridiculous... the Banjo Minnow made for some great times/meals on the trip. I still don't own a set, and my brothers set took a beating over those weeks... so we'll have to buy more before our next trip. I think I can honestly say... that the fish and probably never seen this lure in some of these lakes... and WOW did they like it. I'm sure you get these emails quite often...but I couldn't resist letting you know,

Subject: Great Lure

Wayne,

Ive fished all my life. The only memories i have of my first fishing trip are the pictures my mother had of me holding my first fish at four years of age.

Ive fished the same river and lake since early on, and have never caught anything larger than 5 or 6 pounds, till I bought your lure.

In early spring i was fishing Raystown Lake as usual, with the exception of the Banjo Minnow 006 tied on my line. Its cold here in Pennsylvania in early spring and the small mouth are picky to say the least.

I was twichin' the green back shiner minnow near some weed beds when, BAM! The biggest smallie I've ever seen smacked the Banjo like it was a semi truck on the freeway!!

I was using only a light action rod and reel and 8lb test so i had to fight him very hard. I jumped into the shallow water to retrieve my prize, had my thumb in his mouth to land him and with one shake of his head he snapped my line with ease. If I had to guess, I'd say he was an easy 9-10lbs!! I've had alot of success with it all summer!!!

I think I was more upset at losing the Banjo than the fish!!!

Thanks for a great lure!!

Subject: 1 year later it is my tackle box

Wayne,
I have now been fishing for a year with banjo minnows. I am sure you have heard before the story of how someone has fished the as seen on tv lures with no luck. I am that guy. I took a chance with the banjo minnow and i am glad i did. the first cast I made with a banjo landed a 15" bass. It has now gotten the space in my tackle box as the "never fail" bait. I have caught more bass on the Banjo Minnow than I have caught on spoons, sluggo's, rappala's or any other bait i have tried. My best banjo morning, my uncle and I went on a farm pond, he caught half a dozen with a popper, and i caught about 30 on a banjo. all this in a little less than an hour and a half.

Subject: Wanted to share a great story about using your product

Wayne, First of all I would like to think you for a great product in the Banjo minnow. I really bought the lures for my two sons, ages 5 and 3. We seen them on TV and they just had to have them. Both of my boys love fishing. Two days after our minnows arrived I took the boys to one of our local fishing spots (a two acre pond). We’ve fished in this mountain pond for the last three years. The pond has nice size bream but we’ve never caught a large mouth over 1 lb. You want believe this but on the first cast my son Ethan (5) made a beautiful cast off the small pier we were fishing from about thirty yards on the edge of some cat tails and boom. He hooked up with the largest bass of his young life. He was able to get the fish up to the pier where I could see it was probably about a 5 or 6 lb large mouth before it broke his line. We never even considered their being that size of bass in this pond. We went on that morning to catch roughly 12 more fish up to 2 lbs in about an hour’s time.

That same afternoon I took Ethan back to the same pond and within about ten minutes I hooked up with another big fish that I could not do anything with and he also broke our line. We were using light weight tackle and after losing our second banjo minnow, I told Ethan we were going to have to upgrade our tackle before going back out on our next fishing trip and we did. We bought two new bass rods within the next week.

I wish we could have landed one of those two fish so I could have sent you a picture but I’ve saw firsthand that this product of yours is the real deal. I personally owe 50% of a Outfitters consulting business. We are in our second year and have mainly concentrated on hunting but over the next couple of months we are going to start adding fishing trips also. I’m scheduled to go on a small mouth bass trip on the New River in Virginia within the next week and will be traveling to the Common Wealth of Dominica (Caribbean Island) Oct. 5th for a week to do some more fishing where I’ll be reviewing potential outfitters. I look extremely forward to trying out the banjo minnows on both of my trips. I’ll let you know how they turn out and hopefully have some pictures for you and my company.

Thanks again for a great product.

Subject: My first Banjo fish

I am Marcia and I caught my FIRST fish about 7 pm on Sunday evening 14 Sep08 . My Daughter bought the Banjo for me in August '08. Because I did not watch the video to learn the details I tried to catch fish on several occasions with no results. Last night I watch the video to learn the correct techniques. I went back down to the pond today and by using the correct wrist action I caught a 16 inch bass in less than 45 minutes....I only go fishing about three times a year when our children come home to visit (it is not my cup of tea)and have used bait but I will never go back to fishing with worms again. I told my husband to I am going back down to the pond on tomorrow. The thrill of catching that 16 inch bass turned my out look on fishing. What a rush!!!!!!!!

I have bragging rights

Subject: first fish

Hello, My name is Andrew, and I bought the banjo system about 3 months ago but have not had the time to get out and try it. I did make it out this past weekend and I did catch some fish on other baits that have worked in the past. Then had a time when nothing was hitting what I was using before, so I pulled out the banjo. I was a little bit of a none believer in this, but it sure changed my mind in a hurry. I must have pulled in 20 fish in the next 1/2 hour none of which were under 18 inches. I am really pleased with the banjo minnow and will reconmend it to all my fishing buddies.

Thank You,
Andrew Omens

i love this product. This fishing lure is the best lure I have ever used. I also thought this lure was only used for bass. I was wrong. I got the white minnow and put the red eye in it and the smallest hook and caught some of the biggest crappie I have ever caught. THANKS for making this lure.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I bought my first banjo minnow kit about two months ago. It is the most amazing thing I've ever had the pleasure of fishing with. It even beats the countless types of live bait I've used. Wayne Hockmeyer is a fishing genius.

I live in Colorado not a huge bass state and got my banjo minnows about 1 month ago but didn't get the chance to use them until august 29th. first cast I got a hit but didn't hook the fish right so he got away, then second cast got a 9 inch large mouth then had to go home so the next day I go back and catch two 9 inch bass and 12 inch and almost landed at least a 16 incher but I wasn't fast enough before he was gone. But before I got my minnows I was never able to get any bass out of that pond with any other lure. Thanks

Hi Wayne,
I was fishing on Lake Aloria in Northern Minnesota this morning and caught a northern pike within minutes of fishing with the banjo minnow for the first time. I love to fish and I am 8 years old.

Thanks
