Subject: Banjo Surprise

Wayne,Although I've been burned before by TV fishing gimmicks, I bought your Banjo Minnow kit after seeing your infomercial and put the System to the test on a week long Minnesota camping vacation. No we weren't on the shores of a wilderness lake in the Far North Woods. We were at a private campground in southern Minnesota that hosts hundreds of vacationers each week. The campground has three private ponds that get fished REALLY HARD! The fish in those ponds can probably recognize the popular artificial lures better than the clerk at the local tackle shop. I couldn't think of a tougher test for your Banjo System. On the first day using the System I landed three largemouth bass with the biggest measuring over 15 inches and 1 - 1.5 lb. while fishing from the bank along approximately 60 yards of shoreline in about 2 hours. Overnight a cold front moved through and the next day had those terrible conditions that we all know usually mean a fishless trip -- clear sky, the brightest sun and strong light penetration. Could things get any worse for any type of lure or presentation? But the Banjo System came through again. Fishing the same shoreline for about the same length of time, I landed another three largemouths. The biggest fish in that group measured over 16 inches and over 1.5 lb. I really love 3 aspects of your Banjo System. First, it can be fished effectively at any speed from fast to super slow and at any depth top to bottom. Next, when rigged according to the directions in the kit, it is virtually weedless. I'm not just talking large weeds like cabbage and eel grass. I mean the mats of slimy algae like we get in midsummer inthese fertile ponds and lakes we have inthe Midwest. Lastly are the solid hooksets with the Banjo System. Once hooked, there was never a question of throwing the lure. All the bass I caught required pliers to extract the hook from the mouths of the bass -- but not so deep to put a fish at harm for Catch and Release. Do I need to say I've become a BIG FAN? Thanks for a fantastic fish catching tool.DougWebster City, IA P.S. Permission to use this e-mail for promotional purposes is freely granted

I took them down to our pond and my first cast cought a 5 pound bass. I have never seen a minnow that works like these do, they are great. The bass just eat those thing up.
Thanks, Sean

I used the banjo minnow last week and kicked my friends ass in his own pond 12-1. You do the math Banjo-12 , Worm-1 .Thanks for creating this lure. I first ordered it when I was 13 or so, I made my mom get it for an early birthday present. The only complaint I have is there is no banjo crab. I am an avid fisherman of red fish in southern Louisiana (everyone knows big reds like crabs) and know banjo can make a perfect crab look alike. Please put this in the works, there is a need for a crab lure that works, for all the ones that are available are crap. Also how about the banjo craw fish? And what size minnow do you recommend for nice 3-5 lb bass and nice reds? Sincerely Don

Subject: A New Believer!

I had seen your infomercial on late night TV and while it caught my attention I was, to say the least, very skeptical. Today, however, I came across an older set at a garage sale and decided to buy them. We have a river less than a mile from the house where I go fish at on a pretty regular basis. Now, I have fished this section of river for a number of years and have never caught anything but Bullheads. My boys enjoy catching and releasing the bullheads and I enjoy going out with them and being so close to the house we can go at a moments notice so we fish this area. Tonight I went out and hooked up a banjo minnow, thinking “ok let’s see if these really work”. Now I was not expecting to catch anything and really wasn’t being fair to the banjo minnow since I have never caught anything in this area. I cast 4 or 5 times by the shore area just to play with the lure and see how it worked. My wife came to where I was at one time and pointed to the lure thinking there was a hurt fish in the water. I had to tell her it was the lure. That was the first thing I noticed. Just how real it really looked. Well, on my second real cast, I was trying the hurt minnow routine, and my rod just about flew right out of my hand. The fight was on! When I finally got the fish to shore it was just shy of 36 inches long. A beautiful Northern Pike! And out of a spot I never caught anything. Thanks for the banjo Minnow. It really works! And these were the older ones. I am sold!!
Thanks again for the Banjo Minnow! Vern Eckel.

Subject: The Banjo Minnow - WOW!!

Dear Wayne,
Just wanted to let you know that I finally used the Banjo Minnow yesterdayfor the first time. WOW!, in 3 hours of fishing on the small lake that I live on I caught 13 Bass, 8 Largemouth Bass around 2lbs with one at 3lbs and 5 Calico Bass all between 1- 2lb. If I hadn't been so startled at how quickly and often I got strikes and had been able to land every strike I got, I would have easily caught double or more Bass in that same three hour time. The ones that I did catch came leaping out of the water with terrific fights on my light tackle. Needless to say yesterday was the most exciting and fun fishing day I have ever had!! I can't wait to get home tonite and go fishing again. I will be ready this time knowing the results this lure can produce. Now I can confidently say that it is just a matter of short time before I land those lunkers that are in my lake! Everything you say about this lure came true for me, I had been fishing the lake for a couple of years with spotty results until yesterday. This is just an absolutely amazing lure! Thank-you for developing such a great product! You have a dedicated customer now.
Regards,
Chuck Murray

Wayne -

I don't believe advertising, particularly that associated with fishing tackle. Now, having said that, I have to tell you this minnow is definitely all that it's cracked up to be! I took it to Canada in June and absolutely nailed the walleyes. Literally could not keep them off the line. I caught two northerns as well. When I got back home (Illinois) I tried it out on the local river & caught smallmouth bass all morning long. BUT, the Coupe de Gras was last week when I went to a local lake and fished for largemouth bass. Never been on this lake before. Don't fish for largemouth as a rule.
The guy I was with threw his entire tackle box at the fish all day long, landing one largemouth about 1 1/2 lbs. I used nothing but the small banjo all day & caught / released 22 largemouth, including the 5-pounder enclosed!
I may never use another lure for the rest of my life. As skeptical as I was originally, I cannot begin to tell you how completely satisfied I am.
If it hadn't happened to me personally, I never would have believed it.

Took the Banjo Minnow to Manitoba, Canada. I really thought that it might be fun to try on the big Northern Pikes. Long story short - Every BIG fish I caught was on the Banjo Minnow. My biggest was a 46" Northern Pike. I was 1 inch from the camp record. We were the only ones in camp that used it, and would fish behind people using other lures, and caught the biggest fish. I went from being a nonbeliever to a BIG believer in one day. Thanks, Tina RothI got 5 trophy fish in 5 days. ROLAND ROTH Why Wait? Move to EarthLink.

Subject: Banjo Songs of Praise

Dear Banjo,

Id first like to say "....thank you....thank you.....thank you!!"

The Banjo System is by far, the best artificial bait one can use. Never once has it let me down. I used to fish spinnerbaits, worms, lizards, crankbaits, sticks, long-time fly fisherman, you get the idea.....now I only carry Banjo minnows under the notion that "if they ain't hittin a Banjo,.....they ain't hittin......" I have caught everything from perch, sunnies, chubs, crappie andblueguills to lunker bass (smallmouth and largemouth) and some huge pickerel, trout, musky (ever catch a 48" musky on 4 lb. test and a 3" banjo??!!!). They usually hit it the second it hits the water, or within the first two to three jerks.

Ive been fishing the Banjo System, I believe since its first introduction infomercial, thinking "yeah sure.....Riiiiiight!!!.....theyre demonstrating in a fishtank or something and those fish havent eaten in days.....I bought the kit just to prove them wrong. Ladies and gentlemen....I can personally assure you this bait is no joke, there is no trick, and I do not work for Banjo Minnow!! If you really want to catch fish when everyone around you isnt...this is the lure for you.

The reason for this approach is this: Big splash gets the fish's attention, he thinks maybe somebody else might have just attempted to eat a baitfish or at least wants to know what the commotion is all about. He now sees a dying minnow on the flutter, figures its a meal missed by the original attacker. The missed meal, mortally wounded, is perceived as a free meal, with little to no effort. The fish's psychological trigger goes off, and whether hungry or not, these lures will trigger that fish to hit 8 or 9 times out of 10.

Im a very scientific person who only believes what I see proven, not what I hear. To say I am 150% impressed with the Banjo System is probably the understatement of the century. It almost makes it too easy. At a minimum, it makes up for all those years of coming home empty-handed after a day on the lake. Ive seen fish within 5 feet of a bank that wouldnt hit anything. The assumption being that the fish can see me, therefore are a little spooked. Ive turned and dropped a Banjo in front of those same fish and have gotten a response more often than not.

And bring it all the way in. Dont get it within 10 feet and quick reel to get another cast in. Ive been surprised by more fish that have hit the thing while I was getting out bird's nests (from my girlfriend's rod of course :D ), unwrapping line from a top eye, etc. or even just dangling to impress myself with the action, all within 2-3 feet of the canoe or bank where I never would have thought they would hit.

Nothing but songs of praise for the Banjo Fishing System......

A lifelong loyal customer,

John Angelini
Hopewell, NJ

PS. The only place I notice your system is, dare I say, lacking, is in color selections. Here in NJ, as well as neighboring states, we have a common baitfish, that the fish LOVE which is brown in color. The gold shiner variation doesnt quite meet this need, although close. If you could come out with something in that area, and/or perhaps a muddy water purple variation, I would be happy to say the least. Theres a few smallmouth I would like to get my hands on in the Delaware River. Im sure a few other locals would be ecstatic as well, to say the least. I would be more than happy to supply images of the baitfish should you be interested, and maybe do some beta testing.....wink wink!!

I just wanted to thankyou for sending me the lures. I got all postive feedback from my members about your lures. They really liked them and from what I herd, a couple of guys went onto your site and purchased some.
I used the ones that were all white witht he big red eyes. I cant even begin to tell you how many fish I landed on that lure. I really apprecitate you sending me those. I am still catching fish on them... The walleye love the white minnows. I figured you would like to hear any feedback... Thanks again!

Subject: Creek Smallmouth

I have been fishing a very wide, fast moving creek directly across the street from my house in our subdivision for the past couple of years with minimal success. The creek width averages about 50 yards, with a depth range of less than a foot to about 5'. This past Father's Day weekend, I saw the info-commercial on TV for the Banjo Minnow and decided to order.

WOW! The best Father's Day present I ever gave myself, along with being the best and easiest lure I have ever fished with.

I have yet to be skunked since using the banjo minnow in the creek. The water is very clear, I wade out to the middle of the creek, and cast towards the shore into the current and start fishing the technique. I average anywhere from 6-12 smallmouth bass in 1-2 hrs of fishing. The largest so far has been a 20 inch, 3lb smallmouth. My neighbors are amazed at my success, and I give all the credit to this lure. At times, I get strikes almost as soon as the lure hits the water, before I even have a chance to start the technique.

Thanks!

Bobby Lee

I went fishin in a small golf course pond. I only use the banjo minnow. I have only used it in fresh water for about 5 years. At this small pond I caught about 45 fish in 2 hours it was almost every cast! Wow what an experience. I went back a few days later with a friend and his son. They were using rubber worms with no luck, I let the son use the banjo and he caught fish(bass) on his first 5 casts.

I have yet to be skunked with the Banjo Minnow. My wife has used this lure as well and she is not a great fisherman, but even she has caught several nice fish with this lure. My 3 year old daughter even caught a 5 lb. largemouth bass. Daddy had to reel it in for her, but she hooked it. The best fishI have caught was with the Banjo Minnow as well. A 52 " muskie in Wisconsin. I am goin again to Wisconsin next week and I have stocked up.Thank you for creating this wonderful lure. Sincerely, Jim Gray

Wayne,Here's one for all the beginers out there:I recently went fishing with my girlfriend, Vanessa. This was only her third or fourth time fishing with me and she hadn't had much luck the first few times. So, I decided to let her try the Banjo minnow. I figured it would be good for her because it's so easy to set the hook. She started fishing it with rapid twitches while I fished a plastic worm.About 30 minutes later Vanessa yelled for help. When I looked over, her poll was bent in half and her drag was screaming. She was using pretty light spinning gear with 8 pound test line and a #6 hook.To make a long story short... after about 3 minutes and a few jumps, Vanessa landed this 6 pound peacock bass.So much for experience and my plastic worm!!!We both wanted to say thanks for a great lure... and... a great memory.Matt and Vanessa
P.S. It was caught in a small pond in Boca Raton Florida.

Mr. Wayne, your banjo minnow system is the best lure money can buy. I recently caught the biggest largemouth bass of my fishing career of 16 years using your lure. I have caught an exponential amount of bass on this lure, not to mention crappie. There are some schooling bass at the dam at Lake Sam Rayburn, I caught one on topwater (from luck and a good cast) but other than that one they are uncatchable by any other means of fishing. Unfortunately I left my Banjos at our camp. I plan on making another trip up there with my new set. I have confidence they will work their magic. Until next time.

Hey there Wayne and all the other guys that help made the Bajo Minnow possible. About 5 years ago I have seen the Infomercial on TV, for about the first 5 minutes i was hooked on it. I was so excited that someone had invented this great lure. After that I have been searching stores for the kit. Later on one of my friends had had the chance to get it at a retail store. I was excited too, but it wasnt mine, but he lent me one banjo (The 3"). Like the infomercial said, first cast, my first cast on the banjo landed a 2 pounder large mouth bass, it was like it wasnt even there at first but then it just appeared out of the weeds. It was an incredible feeling. The basses I have caught through the Banjo Minnow hit the minnow hard when I was about to reel it out of the water thinking i wasnt going to catch anything this cast. Anyways, just wanted to tell you the great story I had with the Banjo's. I have just sent my Mail Order Form purchase for another Kit since i couldnt find the kit anywhere nowadays. -Great Fishing KX

I SAW THESE LURES ON T.V. I SAW IT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND DECIDED TO ORDER THEM.THE VERY FIRST TIME I USED THEM I WENT TO A LAKE THAT I HAD FISHED MANY TIMES. EVEN THOUGH I HAD FISHED IT FROM THE BANK, NO BOAT. THE LARGEST BASS I HAVE EVER CAUGHT , I GOT FROM THIS LAKE. I HAD IT MOUNTED, BIG MISTAKE, 5.5 POUNDS. THE VERY FIRST TIME I CAST THIS LURE IN THE WATER, I FELT A TUG ON MY LINE. THE LINE WAS ONLY 6 LB TEST AND I HAD MY DRAG SET LOOSE. I FELT THE TUG AND SET THE HOOK. ALL I COULD DO IS WAIT FOR THE FISH TO TIRE !!! I PLAYED THE FISH, GOT HER TO THE BANK AND MY COUSIN LIPED IT. HE SAID GOOD LORD!!! I SAID WHAT, HE SAID, THIS ONE IS GOING HOME. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A 11.6 LB. LARGEMOUTH BASS. THE BIGGEST I HAVE EVER CAUGHT TO THIS DAY. THESE ARE THE BEST LURES, MAYBE THEY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM TURNIMENTS. THANKS FOR A GREAT LURE.

I fish for both bass and trout, one day while casting under a dock I had a big trout start to follow the 3" banjo shiner I was using at the time. After it followed it about 20 feet orso it finally hit, by then I was so excited from watching the chase that I actually jerked the lure away from him. Fortunately for me the banjo is so real the fish came back to it and just literally tore it in two but I had him hooked. A very nice 24" rainbow. Must have thought he was a bass hiding under that dock that way. Sure hate having to replace lures that way though.

You see, the Banjo Minnow is the best lure that I have ever fished in my life. The only problem now is that my kit is a bit fished out and I can not find it anywhere in South Africa. Subject: The best lure out there!!!

I am from West Virginia and I love to fish. I went fishing with my brother in law this summer and he had the Banjo minnow. After about 15 minutes he had caught 2 Largemouth Bass, each around 15 inches in length. I was astounded. Here I was fishing with bait of all kinds and only catching bluegills and some small catfish. I said I had to try. So I just recently bought the complete kit with some extra goodies and went fishing on October 12th. I caught 15 Largemouth Bass!!!!, more than what i caught all season long. People in boats and on shore were asking me what i was using to catch all of those Bass. I told them "Banjo Minnow , Baby Yeah!!!" Now Ihave a lighter tackle box and plan on making more purchases of Banjo Minnow. Next summer I plan on taking my soon to be 2 year old son fishing with the Banjo Minnow. Im sure he'll be hooked on it. Thanks Wayne Hockmeyer for everything.
